There will be a marked area on the track available for you. Will there be a photographer? We will have a professional photographer present to take photos of the graduates receiving their diplomas, a service which will allow family members to relax and enjoy the occasion. What happens if it rains? In the event of rainy weather, the ceremony will proceed as planned with umbrellas encouraged. The only concession to the weather will be an abbreviated ceremony (if necessary). | Frequently asked questions for Seniors When is graduation practice? All graduates will gather in the Earl Crabbe Gym for mandatory practice at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, May 31, 2019. The senior picnic will immediately follow graduation practice. What time should I arrive to graduation? On Saturday, June 1, 2019 the graduates will need to be in the Earl Crabbe Gym at 8:00 a.m. for line up before the ceremony. Failure to attend the practice or a later arrival at the practice or ceremony will compromise the privilege of participating in the ceremony. Is there a dress code? Given the importance of this rite of passage, students are encouraged to look their best. As in past years, male students are required to wear a collared shirt and slacks. A necktie is highly recommended. Female students must wear a dress, skirt, or nice slacks/pants. Dress shoes are required. For female students, shoes with a high platform sole, strapless heels or a sharp heel are discouraged due to the field’s uneven surface. Personal items such as purses, large key rings, cameras, etc. should be left with family members. Shorts, faded denim pants with holes or frayed cuffs, torn or inappropriate pants will not be allowed. Students will be sent home to change clothing if any attire is inappropriate. It is also recommended that students not wear sunglasses when they receive their diploma due to the photograph. Can I decorate my cap and gown? No. The cap and gown may not be altered or added to in any way. These distract from the quality graduation we wish to provide. What about beach balls? Students are not allowed to bring any beach balls, frisbees, noisemakers, etc. to throw about during the ceremony. |
