Welcome to American Sign Language at Placer High School!  I am very excited to have the opportunity to create more allies for the Deaf community, reduce communication barriers, and expose you all to our vibrant, thriving Deaf culture and world.

I was raised in Arkansas and earned my Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.  After one year working at the Maryland School for the Deaf, I moved to Austin, Texas, where I lived for 6 years. There, I worked at Texas School for the Deaf and earned my Master's degree in Deaf Studies and Deaf Education from Lamar University.

In the fall of 2013, I moved to Rocklin where I currently live with my husband and three children.

I have been teaching American Sign Language for the Los Rios Community College District and Purple Communications since Spring of 2015, and at Sierra College since Fall of 2015 where I currently serve as the ASL Club Sponsor.

As of now, I am in the Teaching Credential program at National University with the hopes of attaining my Single Subject Teacher Credential in ASL by Fall 2017.
