Did you know?
Orson Welles was heavily influenced by the German Expressionist movement of the 1920's. His work is an artistic bridge between silent expressionism films -The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari (1920) and Metropolis (1927)- and classic Film Noir of the 40's. Tim Burton (The Nightmare Before Christmas) was also heavily influenced by German Expressionism. Some of his most famous character creations are straight from The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari. While almost 100 years old, German Expressionism still influences teen culture to this day.
